Statement from Congressman Adrian Smith welcoming Vice President J.D. Vance to North Platte for a campaign rally on Thursday, October, 22.

Welcome to Nebraska, Mr. Vice President!

“I’m thrilled to welcome Vice President Vance to North Platte and Nebraska’s Third District. From our railroad heritage to the generosity of the North Platte Canteen during World War II, this community has always stood for hard work, service, and opportunity.

Under the leadership of President Trump and Vice President Vance, Republicans have lowered taxes, cut red tape, and secured the border. Last year, we passed the Working Families Tax Cuts, delivering on key priorities like No Tax on Tips, No Tax on Overtime, and No Taxes on Social Security.

This administration recognizes the critical role Nebraska farmers and ranchers play in feeding and fueling our nation. They have worked with Congress to expand markets for Nebraska agriculture and support one of my top priorities, nationwide, year-round E15, which passed the House in May.

We’ve accomplished a lot over the past two years, but we have more work to do. That’s why I’m grateful for Vice President Vance’s visit. He comes from rural and humble beginnings, and understands the values that define Nebraskans: hard work, putting family first, and wanting a fair shot to get ahead, not handouts. Mr. Vice President, welcome to the Good Life!”
